ALPPI FIT LAB
Child Height Predictor
How tall will they be? The honest starting point is the same one pediatricians scribble in the margin: the mid-parental height method. Enter both parents' heights and get the classic estimate, with the real range around it.
Estimated adult height
Most kids land within that range of the estimate. Genetics deals the hand, sleep and nutrition play it.
Tracking a baby right now? Adult height is trivia; the growth curve is the real tool. Pair this with our baby percentile calculator to see where your little one sits today.
How the method works
Average the parents' heights, then add 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) for a boy or subtract 2.5 inches for a girl. That is the mid-parental (Tanner) formula clinics have used for decades. It is a genetic midpoint, not a promise: roughly 2 in 3 kids finish within about 2 inches of it, and almost all within 3.5 inches (8.5 cm).
