There Is No Such Thing as a Heavy Wetter
At some point somebody handed you the label. Heavy wetter. Soaks through everything, wakes up drenched, that is just how he is. Here is the thing nobody says out loud: the label describes the diaper, not your baby.
Where the label comes from
The diaper aisle needs the label. It is how the same companies sell you a day diaper, then an overnight diaper, then a booster pad to put inside the overnight diaper. Read that again: a pad to fix the diaper you already paid for. At no point in that chain does anyone ask whether the diaper itself was simply too slow.
What is actually happening at 3am
The difference between a dry morning and a sheet change is usually not how much your baby produces overnight. It is how fast the diaper pulls liquid away and locks it in. A slow core lets wetness sit on the surface and pool, and pooled liquid finds the exits: up the back, out the legs, through to the sheets. Then the diaper that failed gets called proof that your baby is a heavy wetter.
